Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will chair Judicial Commission meeting in Islamabad today.

The meeting of Judicial Commission for the appointment of judges in the Supreme Court and Sindh High Court will be held today (Friday) at Islamabad.The meeting will be chaired by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and attended by the 9 members of the Judicial Commission.The meeting will seek appointment of Additional Judges in SHC and one permanent judge in the SC.Before the previous sitting of the Judicial Commission, government had opposed the appointment of two ad hoc judges while Bar Councils and the government supported the appointment of judge on permanent basis, so the appointment of one judge in the SC would easily be materialized.Sources said Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Sheikh Azmat Saeed would likely be appointed as permanent judge of the SC while Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal would likely to acquire the position of Chief Justice LHC.
