The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet has approved the import of 375,000 ton sugar to end the artificial crisis of the sugar. It also approved the Ramazan Package. Adviser to PM on Finance Shaukat Tarin talking to Dunya News said that announcement of decreasing eatable prices under the Ramazan Package would be made by the Prime Minister. He said that the provinces had been directed to raid the sugar storages, adding that the formation of Price Control Committees had been ordered. He said that sugar storage would not be allowed. He said that the government had decided that every monthly 70,000 ton sugar would be sold at utility stores. The committee allowed Risalpur Export Processing Zone to export 53 dumper trucks. The policy of issuing foreign loans to the provinces has once again been postponed.
