Govt to file appeal against SC decision

Information minister says cabinet has decided to appeal against the SC verdict in PM contempt case.

Reacting on the Supreme Courts verdict, Information Minister said we have reservations on the judgment but we will not follow the path of confrontation with the JudiciaryHe said we believe in contesting our cases in the courts of law.Kaira said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has been victimized by various steps including conspiracies‚ media and dictators to malign us‚ but we believe in the public power who have elected us.Referring to the protests by PPP workers in different cities, Kaira said the workers hoped that their Prime Minister would be acquitted honorably.About the demand made by the PML-N Chief for holding the general elections‚ Mr. Kaira replied that they would go to the people at the right time.
