By-polls: Introducing electronic voting machines: CEC

Acting chief Election Commissioner (CEC) said electronic machines will be tested in the by-polls.

Talking to media at Multan airport, Justice Shakirullah Jan said the machines would be experimented in PP-194 constituency of the by-election to view its working.He also said by-elections will be conducted over voter-lists compiled under computerized CNIC data.It is to be mentioned that it would be for the first time in Pakistan that electronic voting machines would be used for the election while it should be remembered that most of the countries including India are using electronic machines to avoid any rigging in the elections.
