Pakistan and the US have signed an agreement to halt narcotics and cross-border terrorism.
For this purpose, the US would provide $110 million to Pakistan.The agreement has been signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Division Dr Waqar Masood and US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter on behalf of their respective countries.The money will be used for border security management, anti-narcotics activities and reforms in police department.The agreement is being signed after the recent parliaments’ recommendations regarding new terms of engagement with the US, which indicates the strained relations between the two allies in the ongoing war on terror are moving towards normalcy.
