Haqqani responds to Ijazs objections

Hussain Haqqanis representative said Ijaz tried to derail democratic state with his false claims.

Responding to the objections leveled by Pakistani American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, the central figure in memogate scandal, spokesperson for Hussain Haqqani said Ijaz made false claims regarding alleged BlackBerry messages.He said Ijaz during his cross-examination had maintained that he has no evidence available regarding any communication data on BlackBerry or e-mail services.ISI chief also admitted that no forensic investigation regarding phone data being conducted because Ijaz refused to hand his BlackBerry set, he added.He further said Mansoor Ijaz is only trying to get public attention by dragging the case with his baseless accusations.Mansoor Ijaz, who alleged that long time friend and former Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani asked him to deliver a confidential memo asking for US assistance.The memo is alleged to have been drafted by Haqqani at the behest of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.
