Multan: Celebrating Siraiki culture

(Dunya News) – Siraiki Ajrak Day was celebrated in Multan with colourful displays of traditional block printed ajrak and local dances.
Organised by the Multan Arts Council, the day was packed with music, poetry and dance.
Visitors performed the traditional ‘luddi’ and ‘jhoomar’ to the beat of dhol. Many stalls became the centre of attraction displaying ‘gota’ work on dresses. Ceramic and household items with ajrak designs and intricate handmade art work on camel’s skin celebrated the Siraiki culture.

Speaking to Dunya News, visitors expressed their joy to see the celebration of Siraiki culture.
“This day’s celebration is to send a peaceful message about our culture and our traditions,” a visitor said.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousaf Raza Gillani also visited the stalls wearing traditional ajrak and praised the event that highlighted Siraiki culture.
