Dunya News identifies detail about outbreak of COVID-19 in Lahore
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pertaining to the outbreak of novel COVID-19 in Lahore, Dunya News on Wednesday identified the reasons behind spread of COVID-19 in the city.
According to the reports shared by Dunya News, the city administration could not meet the targets of providing the COVID-19 jabs in second phase of vaccination process. Lahore remained at number 32 out of 36 cities in the province which were vaccinated The RED vaccination campaign was held between 21 to 31 December 2021.
As per details, only 34% per cent of the target population was jabbed with COVIOD-19 vaccination doses while 66 per cent of the population could not receive its second dose.
The District Health Authority (DHA) Lahore remained unsuccessful in controlling the outbreak of not only COVID-19 but of dengue fever as well.
On the other hand, Pakistan reported 5 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,298,763. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,950 on Monday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 898 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Furthermore 483,648 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Sindh, 445,940 in Punjab 181,537 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 108,880 in Islamabad, 34,676 in Azad Kashmir 33,653 in Balochistan and 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Tests and Recoveries
Pakistan has so far conducted 23,608,645 coronavirus tests and 49,673 in the last 24 hours. 1,257,600 patients have recovered in the country whereas 652 patients are in critical condition.
Positivity Ratio
The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 1.8 percent.
Vaccine Statistics
So far, 98,560,854 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 359,088 in last 24 hours. 72,546,719 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 486,211 received their second dose in last 24 hours.
The number of total administered doses has reached to 159,900,613 with 842,144 in the last 24 hours.
