KARACHI (Web Desk) – Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH) dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that Islamabad’s administration had withdrawn a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a fundraising event linked to its under-construction Karachi facility.

In an official statement, the hospital clarified that the notification being shared online was not recent and actually dated back to December 2023.

“The news currently circulating on social media about the withdrawal of a NOC by the Islamabad administration is from December 2023,” SKMCH said.

The hospital explained that the matter related to a fundraising gala dinner scheduled in Islamabad on December 29, 2023, in support of Shaukat Khanum Hospital Karachi.

SKMCH further confirmed that fundraising activities and construction work have continued smoothly since then. The Karachi hospital project remains on schedule and is expected to open in December 2026.

The organisation also expressed gratitude to supporters, assuring them that its mission to provide cancer care continues with public trust and generosity.

Currently, Shaukat Khanum operates major cancer hospitals and research centres in Lahore and Peshawar, providing quality treatment to patients regardless of their financial capacity, with thousands receiving free care daily.
