UAE consul general rebuts claims of visa restrictions on Pakistani cities

KARACHI (Web Desk) – The consul general of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ateeq Al-Remeithi rebutted the claims of visit-visa restrictions on the residents of some Pakistani cities.

He said the UAE government was granting visas to the residents of Pakistani cities without any discrimination adding the news circulating on social media platforms was fake. He lamented that rumors were circulated on social media every now and then claiming a ban on some Pakistani residents.

The Foreign Office of Pakistan has also confirmed the news that no ban has been imposed on any Pakistani city. “We have seen the reports. We can confirm that no such ban is in place by UAE for issuance of visas to Pakistani citizens,” Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said.

The response came in view of the queries by journalists on reports of blacklisting or ban by the UAE on the issuance of visas to Pakistani citizens belonging to specific cities.

Earlier, it had been reported that the UAE government had banned the residents of at least 24 Pakistani cities from getting visit visas as the travel agents in those cities were helping them get visitor visas in the guise of overseas employment.
