(Reuters) - Representatives for US First Lady Jill Biden confirmed a photograph of Biden wearing clothes covered in a lobster pattern is altered.

The photo on social sites shows Biden walking alongside her husband in what appears to be pink, lobster-patterned clothing. Examples of the post are viewable on Instagram ( here ) and on Twitter ( here ).

A spokesperson for the First Fady confirmed to Reuters via email that the photos are altered.

A reverse image search for the original photo reveals a photo posted by the Daily Mail ( here ), that credits UPI photographer, Jim Lo Scalzo for the picture.

The caption reads, “US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden return to the White House from a weekend at Camp David in Washington, DC, on Sunday, May 2021.”( here )

In the original, unaltered image, Jill Biden can be observed clad in an all-white ensemble with black espadrille sandals, not a pink lobster outfit as she walks next to the President who is wearing a navy blue suit.

The posts come days after the Biden Administration served lobster at a state dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron ( nL1N32Q3SH ), ( nL1N32S00Z ).

VERDICT

Altered. The original photograph shows Jill Biden dressed in a white outfit, not one covered in a lobster pattern.
