YouTuber Rajab Butt's interim bail extended till March 30

(Web Desk) - An Additional District and Sessions court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of famous YouTuber Rajab Butt until March 30 in a case related to the alleged desecration of Islamic symbols.

The hearing was held at the Karachi Central Sessions Court, where the interim bail plea of the accused was taken up.

The Additional District and Sessions Judge (Central) accepted the defence’s request for adjournment and extended Rajab Butt’s interim bail.

Rajab Butt, who is currently on interim bail, appeared before the court. During the hearing, the complainant’s counsel argued that the court time was 8:30 am, while the accused appeared at 9:30 am, and requested the court to cancel the bail.

The complainant’s lawyer further stated that they were fully prepared to present evidence, but the defence counsel failed to appear.

A junior lawyer informed the court that the accused’s counsel, Mian Ali Ashfaq, was on official leave.

The court observed that the defence counsel had also failed to appear on previous occasions and directed that a formal application be submitted in this regard.

Subsequently, the court approved the adjournment request and extended Rajab Butt’s interim bail until March 30.

It is worth mentioning that the case against Rajab Butt was registered at Hyderi Market Police Station, and he had earlier obtained interim bail from the court.
