LAHORE (Dunya News) – Renowned comedian Sardar Kamal was laid to rest at a local graveyard in Faisalabad on Thursday. 

The funeral prayers of Kamal, who has been part of Dunya News' programme Mazaq Raat since 2023, were offered at Madni Masjid, Batala Colony. 

He died of a heart attack on Tuesday at the age of 52. 

Sardar Kamal, who was a cardiac patient, suffered pain in his chest and was taken to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology but he could not survive. 

Kamal starred in more than 30 films, several PTV dramas and hundreds of stage plays forcing viewers to burst into extempore laughter. Janam Janam Ki Maili Chadar was one of his most popular stage shows. He also worked as a playwright and director. 

He recorded an episode of Mazaq Raat just a day before his passing. 

TRIBUTES 

The sudden death of Sardar Kamal left his fans, celebrities, colleagues and more importantly, the team of Mazaq Raat in a state of grief. 

Programme host Imran Ashraf expressed his heartfelt sorrow. “I am heartbroken. My heart goes out to his family. 

"I have no words to describe what I feel having news of his departure from this world." 

Iftikhar Thakur paid tribute to Sardar Kamal in these words. “He was one of my teachers. He always took care of his colleagues. When there was any conflict among our friends, he insisted us to reconcile. 

"I am very sorry for his death. He was my favourite actor. He worked in every department of showbiz. I pray to Allah to give his family strength to bear this irreparable loss with courage. May Allah bless him with eternal peace. I request all those who worked with him and benefited from his experience to pray for him.”

Naseem Vicky said it was hard to believe that Sardar Kamal had died. 

“He was like my elder brother and mentor. I started all my significant projects with him. 

"I got his advice on all important matters of life. I can’t hold my tears. I am heartbroken at the sudden demise of Sardar Kamal." 

Mazaq Raat comedian Honey Albela said the impact of Sardar Kamal’s personality on him would remain forever.
