(Web Desk) – Indian music industry legendary singer AR Rahman recently disclosed he suffered from suicidal thoughts in childhood.

He revealed this chapter of his life while talking with students in the Oxford Union Debating Society about spirituality and mental health.

Rahman credited his mother Kareema Baig for helping him to improve his health during that painful phase of his life.

Recalling the message, he said his mother said “ learn to live for others as when you live this way, negative thoughts will not come.”

He further explained to the students that when one lives for others and one is not selfish, one’s life becomes meaningful.

It should be noted that singer AR Rahman's famous songs include 'Maan Tujhe Salaam', 'Raanjhana' and 'Jashan Bahara' , while he recently sang the popular song 'Mein Parwana' from the Bollywood film 'Peeppa' which has also been composed by singer Arjit Singh.
