Several people injured in a stampede during the promotional event of an upcoming film in India.

People received minor injury in a stampede during the promotional event of an upcoming film Rockstar in Jaipur city of Indias Rajasthan state on Tuesday (October 18).The stampede occurred in a college premises where Ranbir Kapoor had come to promote his upcoming movie Rockstar. The mob became out of control when Kapoor started throwing tee-shirts among the audience.Talking to mediapersons, Harishankar Sharma, Station House Officer of the local police station, Jaipur, said that the police had the information about the event and they were prepared to handle the crowd.Today, we knew that Ranbir Kapoor was coming to promote his film Rockstar and that is why I along with other officials had come here, now the programme is over, said Sharma.The organiser was not well prepared to host such a big crowd, which later resulted in a stampede, injuring many. Police and local security personnel had to face a tough time in giving safe passage to the girl students. Sharma added that place was over crowded but the police could manage the situation.I dont know about the injured but yes, the place was really crowded and because the event was going on, stampede took place but we controlled the situation, added Sharma.Kapoor plays the lead in the film along with actress Nargis Fakhri that talks about the transformation of an ordinary young man into a rock icon.Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the films music is composed by AR Rahman, who won the Oscar in 2009 for the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire.
