KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s renowned singer Aima Baig has been censured by Sheraz Uppal regarding a new controversy following the release of her new song "Funkari."
As Aima Baig's new song "Funkari" is being highly praised by her fans since its release, Sheraz Uppal came to school her regarding the writing and composing of the song. Aima claimed that she co-wrote the lyrics of the new song in collaboration with Shakil Sohail.
In a recent interview, Aima Baig revealed that it took her three years to write this song, and she was apprehensive about releasing her first solo track in her career. However, another famous singer Sheraz Uppal has contradicted Aima Baig's statement, claiming that he himself had written "Funkari" entirely.
According to Shiraz Uppal, his name is present in the credits of the song on Universal Music India and Aima Baig's YouTube channel, but she forgot to give him credit herself.
In an Instagram post, the singer wrote that Shakil Sohail passed away six months before the song was written. Moreover Sheraz emphasized that he wrote, composed, and produced "Funkari" entirely by himself, whereas Aima Baig only spent three hours for recording the song.
