The Sao Paulo Fashion Week kicked off as top Brazilian designers showcased their collections.

Hundreds of fashionistas gathered in the large venue in the Ibirapuera Park to watch supermodels hit the catwalks and present trends for the next season.Models with black smokey eyes paraded up and down donning short dresses covered in geometric prints and cuts, mostly in black and white, but with splashes of orange and green. All the fabrics were environment-friendly and made of recyclable materials.Light fabrics and transparencies dominated most of the outfits that appeared in shades of white, gray and blue, referencing the seaside region of Cote dAzur.Top model Raquel Zimmermann opened the show that also featured Brazilian beauties Ana Beatriz Barros and Ana Claudia Michels, Russian model Valentina Zelyaeva and Puerto Rican-born Joan Smalls.Thirty-one Brazilian designers will present their upcoming collections until June 18, when Sao Paulo Fashion Week will close.
