MUMBAI (Online): Kapil Dev is leaving no stone unturned in getting trained for his role as former Indian skipper Kapil Dev for the film ’83. The legendary cricketer has been helping Ranveer to get into the skin of the character. The movie is based on India’s first win at the cricket World Cup held in the year 1983. The training by the actors kickstarted a few weeks back and the makers even revealed the rest of the cast.

Not only Kapil, even his daughter Amiya has become a part of the project, as reported by Mumbai Mirror. The young girl is working as an assistant director to Kabir Khan for ’83 and has been helping out for all pre-production work. Talking about the same, Sandeep Patil’s son Chirag Patil, who plays his father’s role in the film stated, "We met for the first time while working on the film. She’s from Delhi, I’m from Mumbai and she’s way younger than me. She’s part of our daily training sessions since she is on the direction team. So, she keeps us updated on any meetings we are supposed to attend."

He added, "Whenever I’m in Kabir’s office, she’s there and is very involved in the process, be it planning the costumes or the schedule."

Apart from Ranveer and Chirag, ’83 also stars Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiva, Sahil Khattar, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles.

The sports drama will be extensively shot in England and Scotland for over 100 days. It’s hitting the screens in 2020.
