FPW18 - Day 01 concludes with not-groundbreaking trends, glittering gatherings and gossip

(WebDesk) - A three-day varicolored extravagant fashion event - Fashion Pakistan Week 2018 - with all its glitz and glamour kicks off in Karachi.

The most anticipated event of Pakistan Fashion and Glam Industry, a substantial platform to hundreds of aspirant fashion models, designers, makeup artists and others, on Friday took a great and flamboyant start with dazzling performances in sparkling ambiance amid hundreds of attendees and bigwigs of Pakistan Fashion, Film and Entertainment Industry.

On the first day of Fashion Pakistan Week Winter and Festive 2018 featured collection of seven of the talented and creative fashion designers of Pakistan which includes heavyweights like Tena Durrani, Huma Adnan, Lajwanti, Zainab Chottani, Aamna Aqeel, The Pink Tree Company by Omar Saeed, and HSY.

To pay tribute to the courageous and gutsy women, Omar Saeed through his collection gave ‘pink’ a majestic magnificence and opulence of heroism, gallantry, fearlessness and empowerment. Deepak Perwani is set to fire up runway with his solo collection on day 3.

It is disappointing that fashion runway this year, does not flaunt immaculate trendsetting fashion sense. Pakistan Fashion Week - Day 01, went quite unimpressive as most of the veterans failed to present creative, awe-inspirational and innovative work. There were no new artistic and enthralling fashion statements and ground-breaking trends as most of the collection is pretty and attractive but disatisfied as none of the designer came up with something innovative, novelistic and trend-setting in their compilation of designs, cuts, crafts and palette.

A number of key Karachi based fashion designers were eccentrically missing in PFW18 but many of the fashion, entertainment and film Industry celebrities enthralled the audiences as showstoppers for many designers. Kubra Khan walked for Amna Aqeel whereas Lajwanti collection ended on high notes with Sana Javed and Imran Abbas as showstoppers. The most striking and show-stealing among them was Sheema Kirmani who warmed up the environment and aggrandized the idea of womenhood with her gracious presentation of Pink Tree Company collection.

Another displeasing incident also occurred when renowned model and prominent glam figure of Pakistan Fashion and glam Industry Mehreen Syed lost her balance and fell on the ramp while modeling.

Mehreen Syed though gracefully coped up with the embarrassed and awkward situation. Wearing eye-catching Black and silver embellished bridal dress, Mehreen got up with a gentle and confident smile and kept moving with same poise and elegance. Syed was flaunting her baby bump when she walked the ramp as a showstopper for Zainab Chottani’s bridal collection ‘Khwab’.
