Sahir Ali Bagga once again stunned with his another original, finest and soulful melody, one can’t stop humming.

Roye Roye, has that magnificence, the majesty and the marvel that glue the listener to put it on loop with eyes closed and thumping heart to make the doors of the memories remain wide open for hours and hours.

This emotion stirring sensational melancholic and poignant with pain and ache track at its core is simple yet beautiful. The lyrics were also penned by Sahir Ali Bagga.

The love we long when lost often translates into melody and poetry. To keep the memories remain with me, I write, said the versatile artist, a veteran musician and a melodious singer Sahir Ali Bagga in BTS Roye Roye of Coke Studio 11.

Bagga himself composed it and sang alongside Momina Mustehsan. The two voices well gel into the opus and rocked the floors of coke studio.

The odes and the music arranged on them is the emotional roller-coaster ride, move you into the tears, overwhelmed with whine, protest, rebel, rage and lastly submission to the deity.

The heart touching notes of flute, the mellow Mandolin in the back ground, the unctuous expression of Momina Mustahsin paired up with the emotions filled deep vocals of Sahir Ali Bagga rhyming the couplets implored with pain, memories and agonies, Roye Roye is simply the premium extravaganza of the season so far.

Momina Mustehsan gracious presence can amazingly be felt but on few places where notes went high, Mustehsan felt low and once or two isn’t convincing in contrast with the soar vocals of Bagga.

Momina was good but Sahir Ali Bagga knocked it out. He clearly dominated this song and made it even more emotionally receptive than it was. The credit goes to the wonderful lyrics too.

While Momina silk tone takes you into the trance with her fantastic delivery in slowing down the song, Bagga kicks it up where the lyrics complain “Rabba Tere hi haath mein thy wo sary hi raasty; Kya mera haath chorna zaruri tha, Kya mere dil ko torna zaruri tha” is truly spine-tingling and heart wrenching.

Sahir ali bagga has sprinted ahead in all the departments, right from lyrics to composition and lending his soothing yet powerful voice with momina’s delicate and dramatic singing.

The duo manages to deliver the soul of the song which divulges the cry for the unreturned mate and the ache in the expression of love lost in the desert of loneliness.

The soul-stirring transition between the notes of Mandolin and Flute in the background enriches the warmth of the melody.

The mandolin was played by Ustad Tanweer Hussain and is absolutely sobbing whereas Baqir Abbas on flute has undoubtedly uplift the charisma of the song.

A contemporary Roye Roye with its digitilization reawakens the ecstasy of the old days romance.

The usual band also performed as par excellence. The backing vocals beautifully supported the transitions between vocals and music.

Last year, it was Sajjad Ali’s Ronay Na Diya which was moving in lyrics, harmonious with music and enthralling with voices.

With this presentation of coke studio 11, it can be expected that a series of power-packed, versatile and varicolored renditions ahead will hook the fans with the magnum opus.
