Foreign currency case: Rahat to be questioned again today

Famous Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been called again today for investigation regarding the foreign currency case. He attended an investigative session of 11 hours yesterday also, Dunya News reported.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was stopped by Indian Revenue Intelligence at Indra Gandhi International Airport New Delhi on 13th February 2011 for carrying 124,000 dollars illegally. Later on, he was released upon intervention of Pakistani consulate into the matter; however he has been ordered to stay in India until the investigations are complete. The Indian officials have extended Rahat’s visa for ten days and confiscated it. According to Indian media, Revenue department has broadened its investigation regarding this case and they are probing about the income from other shows he performed. The investigation team claims that Rahat got the money exchanged illegally; however currency dealer is also being interrogated in this regard.While on the other side Rahat maintains that neither he is much educated, nor does he know about the rules. According to media reports, Rahat has confessed that he took the payments in similar manner thrice, prior to this incident.
