The preparations for traditional carnival in Brazils Rio de Janeiro continue as samba dancers took to the avenue to rehearse for their annual parades.

With less than a month to the pre-Lenten festivities, Rios samba schools are already wrapping up preparations and adding final touches to their glitzy floats and costumes. To make sure that everything runs according to the script on the big night, every weekend since January, samba schools crowd the Sambadrome venue to rehearse their steps and songs.Rios Carnival officially begins on March 4, when the mayor gives the key to the city to King Momo, the Lord of Misrule. A huge number of tourists from all around the world come to attend this carnival.
