XXX Return of Xander's Cage becomes Deepika's highest grosser ever
Xander's cage did not collect as much as expected in India
(Web Desk) – Vin Diesel and Deepika Padukone starrer XXX: The Return of Xander’s Cage has grossed $308 million (Rs 2062.52 cr) being the biggest hit of 2017 so far, outperforming Kung Fu Yoga of Jackie Chan.
According to a box office report, Padukone’s biggest hit of her career so far is Bajirao Mastani, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali that collected Rs 360 cr lifetime total.
However in India, Xander’s Cage did not collect as much as expected in first week of February with Rs 54 cr.
Reportedly, Vin Diesel starrer is the highest grossing film in China which gave Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga starring Sonu Sood and Disha Patani tough competition in its home, China.
Both Padukone and Sonu Sood hosted their big Hollywood co-stars in Mumbai during promotions which in fact were first ever visits of Diesel and Chan.
In Pakistan, the movie which is directed by D. J. Caruso released on January 20.
A critic, Dan Jolin had written: "We ve seen all these stunts pulled before, and seen them done better, but there s some pleasure to be had here — even if it s of the extremely guilty kind."
