Actor Iftikhar Qaiser suffers severe ailment
The actor is not able to have his treatment due to lack of money and resources.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Senior actor Iftikhar Qaiser is suffering from severe illness owing to multiple health complications from the past several months.
The actor is not able to have his treatment due to lack of money and resources.
“If an MNA, MPA fell ill they receive funds worth millions of rupees and have their treatment abroad whereas the artists who are the ambassadors of the nation land into a deteriorating situation,” says fellow artist Ishrat Abbas.
His financial condition is not satisfactory due to non-availability of any work and this has led him to borrow money from others for his treatment.
“I had some money and some I borrowed from some friend but they also have now finished. Even though I thank the Almighty and is contented,” said Iftikhar Qaiser.
Belonging to Peshawar, Iftikhar Qaiser’s artistic career is based on 45 years. After being affiliated with Pakistan Television in 1971, he showed his skills in thousands of Hindko, Pashto and Urdu plays.
He received President’s Pride of Performance award last year.
The government which considers the artists as their cultural heritage are unaware of their plight.
Iftikhar Qaiser, who spread smiles on people’s face for nearly four decades, seeks the help of government as well as his well-wishers.
