Today is the 26th death anniversary of legendary Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz Faiz was born at Feb. 13, 1911 in Sialkot. Following the Muslim tradition, at an early age Faiz was sent to the Masjid to be oriented to the basics of religious studies by Maulvi Muhammad Ibrahim Mir Sialkoti. Faiz acquired a post-graduate degree from the Government College, Lahore-Pakistan, a Master of Arts in English Literature, and he also attended the Oriental College in Lahore, Pakistan, where he obtained another master's degree in Arabic Literature.After a period of exile in war-torn Lebanon from 1979 to 1982, Faiz returned to his home country. He died in Lahore on November 20, 1984. His some popular books are Naqsh-e-Faryadi, Dast Tah-e-Sang, Sar-e-Wadi-e-Seena, Sham-e-Shehr-e-Yaran, Mizan and a collection of literary articles named Merey Dil Merey Musafar, Nuskhaha-e-Wafa.
