Amjad Sabri sues filmakers of Bajrangi Bhaijan

Indian filmmakers have copied the qawali into the movie Bajrangi Bhaijan.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Renowned singer Amjad Sabri has sued Indian filmmakers for using his song ‘Ya Muhammad (SAW)’ in the film Bahrangi Bhaijan on Tuesday, reported Dunya News.

‘Bhar do jholi ya Muhammad (SAW)’, a qawali by Sabri brothers, rose to prominence in the 1960s all over Pakistan.

Taking advantage of the popularity of the said qawali, Indian filmmakers have copied the qawali into the movie Bajrangi Bhaijan. Amjad Sabri on the behalf of Sabri community.

He has said that upon the acquisition of Indian visa he will be on his way to fight the case. Amjad Sabri has said that had his consent been sought before the song was included, he would not have a problem.
