Deepika ousts Kareena in Karan Johar's upcoming movie
Deepika Padukone is now the reigning queen of Bollywood.
(Web Desk) - No doubt, Deepika Padukone is the new actress in demand. The damsel is flying high after giving five back to back Box Office hits. Recent reports reveal that Deepika Padukone will be acting in the next Karan Johar movie.
Apparently Karan Johar dropped best friend and actress Kareena Kapoor from his dream project which is titled Shuddhi and signed Deepika Padukone instead. Deepika Padukone is now the reigning queen of Bollywood which is probably why Karan felt a need to sign her for his dream project.
Seemingly, if things go well we might get to see Deepika opposite Hrithik Roshan for the first time together. Karan s dream however to reunite Hrithik and Kareena after 12 years on screen is not taking place. Another reason for dropping Kareena is the actress packed schedule due to which she won t be able to devote much time to this project.
"It s true, she has been approached. However, she still needs to read the script and take a decision," a source close to the project told media. Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Golliyon Ki Rasleela-Ram Leela were back to back Box Office hits.
Kareena on the other hand, failed to deliver any hits this year with Gori Tere Pyaar Mein being a huge disaster at the Box Office. Maybe seeing Deepika s career graph, Karan had an instant change of mind. Reportedly Deepika has been approached with the script but has not yet given an answer. The film is expected to go on floor early next year. Currently,
Hrithik is out of the country for treatment and once he returns, Karan will go ahead with the film. Shuddhi will be directed by Karan Malhotra. Well, let s hope Kareena is fine with it!
