She moved to the United States when she was young and has been based there ever since.But it was Neelu Sodhis love for acting that led her to leave her comfortable corporate job in NewYork and return to her roots.After modeling for print campaigns for international brands and also being a part of Lady Gagas music video, Neelu was recently seen in English Vinglish as Sridevis niece.About working with Sridevi, Neelu says, It was an amazing experience to work with such a legendary actress. It was nerve wracking initially, but she was very sweet. A lot of funny things happened on the sets that helped us break the ice. She adds, Sridevi is known for her dance moves and I was thrilled to do a few steps with her. I love to dance.Ask her why she decided to move to modeling and acting and Neelu replies, I am passionate about acting. I am fascinated by this art and I feel lucky that I am in a position to pursue what I love.About being in a new industry which sees newcomers everyday, Neelu does feel the competition. She says, This industry is very competitive, but Im just doing my best to stay focused.As long as there is talent and actors are delivering, it doesnt matter what background they come from. Neelu is busy with few independent films.Ive recently finished shooting for a few movies which Im looking forward to sharing with my audience. I enjoy writing. I would like to direct a film one day.
