Finland has established a reputation for hosting unusual international competitions. Karaoke singing, doughnut-eating, wife-carrying, mosquito-killing, mud soccer and the Sauna World Championships. On Saturday 140 men and women from 20 countries gathered in Heinola for the 11th annual sauna championships. The village is located 130 km north of Finnish capital Helsinki. This year, the mens world champion was Timo Kaukonen from Lahti, Finland, winning his fifth title after spending 3 minutes and 46 seconds in one of the hottest saunas one can imagine.
