Bollywood actors promote their film based on first-ever registered police encounter in Mumbai.

Bollywood actors John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut promoted their forthcoming film Shootout at Wadala, based on first-ever registered police encounter in Mumbai.Present at the event were the director, Sanjay Gupta and producer Ekta Kapoor and many actors from the film fraternity.Abraham, who plays the role of gangster Manya Surve, told reporters that film depicts scores of encounters, between the underworld mafias and the provincial police of western Maharashtra state during the period when the goons dominated the city.Excited about his role, Abraham said it is a lifetime opportunity for him and he was working on hard on it.I love this film and for me it is, on a very serious note, a career defining films something that I have taken very-very seriously, said Abraham.The film is a sequel to Guptas previous movie Shootout at Lokhandwala, which was based on the encounter at Lokhhandwala in1992, when commissioner of police, Aftaab Ahmed Khan, shot Dawood Ibrahims aides including Maya Dolas and Dilip Bua.This caused massive controversy after it was rumoured that Dawood asked the shoot his aides so that he could take revenge as they had fallen out with him.Leading lady of the film Ranaut said that they are promoting the film extensively, which she thinks is an importantmedium to connect with the masses.Wherever we get a chance to promote our film, we reach there. There is nothing wrong in promoting the film. I think, one should not leave any stone unturned to promote the film and extensive promotion does not create any problem, said Ranaut.Shootout at Wadala is slated for release on December 07.The music is composed by prominent Bollywood music directors Pritam and famous duo of Vishal and Shekhar.Sanjay Gupta has a long list of dark thrillers supporting his film career. Much of his work has been criticised as re-interpretation of other films, both Hollywood and other international pieces.
