Killers of seminary principal Ziaur Rehman arrested

The seminary head was gunned down in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police claimed to have tracked down four suspects involved in the murder of a seminary principal.

Jamia Abu Bakar Islamia head Maulana Ziaur Rehman was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Gulistan-e-Johar, Block-6, a few weeks ago.

According to DIG Karachi East, three arrested suspects belong to Punjab, and one is from Punjab.

The DIG said the robbers entered the seminary with the intention of looting, but one of the robbers was caught by the victim.

In an attempt to get him freed, the outlaws opened fire and killed Maulana Ziaur Rehman on the spot, the police officer said.

With the help of the suspected killers, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is conducting raids to arrest main accused of the murder, who have been identified as Shan Bangaish, and Zulfiqar Bangaish. Shan Bangaish is stated to be the son of a policeman.

The DIG said the outlaws were involved in dozens of incidents of robbery, kidnapping for ransom, and targetted killing.
