LAHORE (Dunya News) - A racket involved in drug smuggling through drone was busted in Lahore.

The suspects were involved in using drone to smuggle heroin to India.

The ANF recovered huge quantity of heroin during raid at the border areas. The officials also seized the drone used in the smuggling while some suspects managed to flee from the scene.

The fleeing suspects were identified as Abdul Razzaq, Jaida, Sharafat, Mustafa and Ijaz Dayal. According to the FIR, the gang also had support from other side of the border.

Earlier, an attempt to smuggle drugs worth millions of rupees was foiled last month in Lahore. A drone of a large size was carrying six kilogrammes of heroin when it crashed into the fields of a landlord in the village.

A similar incident happened earlier this year in Narowal. Police had arrested five suspects allegedly involved in cross-border heroin smuggling through drones.
