Customs team thwarts attempt to smuggle flour, sugar

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Customs authorities have foiled a bid to smuggle a large quantity of essential utilities such as sugar and flour along with fertilisers on Thursday.
According to the Customs authorities, the field enforcement unit has seized hundereds of metric tons of essential utilities during several operations. The authorities confiscated 54 ton flour, 70 ton fertiliser and 64 ton sugar. The approximately 190 ton seized utilities are estimated to be worth Rs80 million.
Customs has been conducting active operation against the smuggling of essential commodities for the last three weeks after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the department to control the crime.
