Dr. Birbal's brother raised suspicion on female assistant, case registered

Case of Dr. Birabal Genani’s murder registered in Garden PS

KARACHI (Dunya News) – A case of target killing against the murder of eye specialist Dr. Birabal Genani was registered in Garden police station of the provincial capital. The city of lights has been under the reign of terror since decades and the disturbing noises of shots being fired resonates all over the metropolitan city.

According to the police, the case includes charges of murder, attempt to murder and other offences. However, the brother of deceased became complainant and shockingly rose suspicions on the injured female assistant of the doctor: Qurat-ul-Ain, who was travelling with him when the incident happened.

As stated in the FIR, the complainant got the news of his brother’s death over a phone call and he rushed towards Jinnah hospital. The police handed him over the dead-body after autopsy and other legal procedures.

Dr. Genani’s brother said that upon being informed he came to know that his brother was on his way back home from clinic when the suspects fired several shots on him, with the intention to murder. After firing, the car crashed into the wall of Pakistan quarters.

The plaintiff added, even though the female assistant got injured in the incident as well, but the possibility of her involvement in this murder cannot be ignored.

Dr. Birbal was also a former health director of KMC. He was murdered on Thursday after a targeted attack near Layari expressway interchange in Garden area of Karachi.
