Multan: Robbers kill two in jewellery heist bid, three suspects captured

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Robbers shot dead a jeweller and a student during an unsuccessful heist at a jewellery shop in Gulgasht area on Monday.
Eyewitnesses told police that six robbers entered a shop and tried to loot cash and gold ornaments at gunpoint. They opened fire after facing resistance from the shop owner and his employees. The firing left two persons, one of them a student, dead and three other people injured.
The firing incident triggered panic among local traders and visitors who managed to capture three suspects while three others managed to flee.
A large number of people including students gathered at the crime scene and raised slogans against police for their failure to curb growing lawlessness. Rescue 1122 ambulances and policemen reached the spot and shifted the dead and the injured to a nearby hospital.
Police are investigating the incident for further action.
