'Wanted' outlaw killed in police shootout

Police claimed that the suspect was killed by the firing of his accomplices.
RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya news) – An alleged robber was killed during crossfire with the police in Shaidani Sharif area of Liaqatpur on Friday, police said.
Police said the suspect was wanted in several cases of robbery in districts of Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Initial police investigation showed that a police team came face to face with a group of robbers who were trying to steal some cattle. An exchange of fire took place between the two sides, resulting in the death of one suspect.
Police claimed that the suspect was killed by the firing of his accomplices. Two other suspects managed to escape.
A heavy police contingent arrived at the crime scene to assist the investigation process and tackle the law and order situation.
It is learnt that the criminals were loading stolen goods on a boat moments before the encounter.
Police ceased illegal weapons, stolen motorcycle and some cattle from the crime scene. The body was taken to a state hospital for forensic examination and legal formalities.
