Constable martyred as robbers open fire on police party in Lahore
The case was registered on the complaint of Constable Muhammad Bilal.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - A police constable was martyred and a passerby was injured when robbers opened fire on a police party in Data Darbar area of Lahore.
Lahore CCPO took notice of the incident and directed the personnel to arrest the culprits immediately with the help of CCTV cameras.
According to Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, the robbers were fleeing the area after carrying out robbery near Pir Miki Darbar when they encountered the police party.
The culprits opened fire when the security forces tried to catch them. After firing, the robbers ran towards the Bhati Gate main market.
According to police officials, constable Ramzan was severely injured in the firing. A passerby named Javed was also injured in the shooting incident. Both the injured were rushed to Mayo Hospital for medical treatment but the constable succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case under terrorism charges and other provisions. The case was registered on the complaint of Constable Muhammad Bilal.
