Rawalpindi: US woman arrested for illegally residing in Pakistan

The lady had to return to her country on October 24 after getting divorced but she refused.

RAWALPINDI (Daily Dunya) – Police officers detained an American woman from Rawalpindi’s Satellite Town area for illegally residing in Pakistan.

According to security personnel, 31-year-old Elizabeth Mary is a West Virginia resident who came to Islamabad after marrying Pakistan local Adnan Khan some 18 months ago.

The lady had to return to her country on October 24 after getting divorced but she refused.

The officers told that Elizabeth was given tourist visa that expired on November 12, 2016 but she renewed it till October19, 2017. The US nationality holder was asked to leave the hotel near cricket stadium for not paying the bill after which she was apprehended and shifted to the police stadium.

Moreover, investigation into the matter has been launched.
