Maritime crime at peak in Karachi
The organization's spokesman has demanded the higher authorities to take action into the matter.
KARACHI (Daily Dunya) – Enormous increase has been witnessed in maritime crime as pirates contimue to loot fishes worth millions, mobile phones and other items from people travelling through sea in Karachi.
According to Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum spokesman, pirates are robbing fishermen in open sea from past three months. He said that the suspects come from Korangi Fish Harbour on speed boat and loot people on gun point.
Victim Rasheed revealed that the suspects were probably Sindhi and Urdu speaking.
“We captured 25 kg of prawns after a day-long struggle but the pirates took them on gun point”, he added.
The organization’s spokesman has demanded the higher authorities to take action into the matter as early as possible.
