RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) – Five suspected robbers were killed in an alleged encounter with police in Samba Kot police jurisdiction here on Saturday night, Dunya News reported.
Police received a distress call that some robbers snatched cash from a citizen identified Hashim and fled in a car and motorcycle 125.
Law enforcers chased and engaged them at a security barricade set up by Samba Sessions Court police, police said, adding the robbers resorted to an intense firing, which continued for quite sometimes. Police retaliated in a befitting manner.
When their guns fell silent, police searched the area and found five robbers dead. Their bodies were sent to hospital for medicolegal procedures.
Police were trying to ascertain their identification. Weapons and looted cash have been seized from the outlaws. Further investigation was underway.
