DSP Shangla Muhammad Ilyas shot dead in Mingora shooting
Doctors said that three bullets from head, shoulder and neck were recovered from slain DSP's body.
SWAT (Dunya News) – Deputy Superintendent of Police (SSP) Legal Shangla Muhammad Ilyas Khan on Tuesday was shot dead by some unidentified armed men in Mingora.
According to details, some unknown suspects opened indiscriminate firing at DSP Shangla who came to Mingora for some work. The officer died on the spot while his guard sustained severe wounds and was shifted to hospital for medical assistance.
Doctors said that three bullets from head, shoulder and neck were recovered from slain DSP’s body.
The hospital administration has also reported that injured officer was shot in chest and stomach.
On the other hand, police personnel have launched an investigation into the matter to nab the culprits.
On June 9, 2015, unknown gunmen targeted a police van in Shah Latif area of Karachi, killing Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Majeed Abbasi who was probing Baladia Town factory fire incident.
DSP Majeed Abbasi was appointed as DPO in SITE division of the sensitive West Zone.
On May 10, DSP Zulfiqar Zaidi was gunned down along with his friend in Shah Faisal Colony and DSP Abdul Fateh was killed in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Karachi on May 1.
