Karachi: Ball bomb attack on police station as crime rampant in city
Meanwhile police conducted action in various areas of the city and arrested 3 suspects.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Crime is still rampant in city as a police station of Orangi Town was attacked with a ball bomb by unknown assailants riding a motorcycle, who fled the scene after dropping it. Fortunately, the bomb did not go off and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached in time and defused the explosive.
According to the BDS, 500g of explosive material was used in the bomb.
Orangi police station previously been targeted as well in ball bomb and cracker attacks.
Police have started an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile police conducted action in various areas of the city and arrested 3 suspects.
A suspect was arrested from Nazimabad area while 2 of his accomplices managed to escape.
Action was conducted against Sheesha café’s in the South district on the orders of Sindh Interior Minister Sohail Anwar Sayyal. 10 sheeshas’ were confiscated while 2 suspects were also taken into custody during the raids.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South, a case has been registered against the culprits in Boat Basin police station.
An individual named Imran was injured in a firing incident in Medina Colony area of Baldia Town.
On the other hand, Dunya News has obtained footage of robbery in a shop at Abdullah Haroon road. 4 dacoits looted cash and cameras worth thousands of rupees.
According to the obtained footage, 4 suspects on motorcycles entered the shop. 2 of the suspects were wearing helmets while another was wearing a cap.
Police say that the felons remained in the shop for 4 minutes.
Police have further stated that a hunt has been started for the perpetrators and they will be caught soon.
