LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan have defeated South Africa by nine wickets in the second T20I in the second T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Pakistan comfortably achieved South Africa’s target of 111 runs in 13.1 overs, losing just one wicket. Saim Ayub remained unbeaten on 71, Babar Azam 11, and Sahibzada Farhan scored 28.

Earlier, South Africa set a target of 111 runs for Pakistan in the second T20I.

South Africa’s innings started miserably as Rassie Hendricks failed to read an inward delivery from Salman Mirza and was clean bowled on the second ball. De Kock and Toni De Zorzi scored 7 runs each before being dismissed, while Matheu Breetz contributed 10 runs.

The Proteas’ fifth wicket fell at a team score of 49 when Dewald Brevis was out for 25. Donovan Ferreira scored 15, and George Linde and Nandre Burger made 9 runs each before returning to the pavilion.

From Pakistan, fast bowlers Salman Mirza and Faheem Ashraf took three wickets each, Naseem Shah claimed two, and Abrar Ahmed dismissed one batsman.

Pakistan’s disciplined bowling and fielding restricted South Africa to a modest total, giving the hosts an early advantage in the match.

Now, that the series has been levelled, the third and last T20 match of current series would be played tomorrow.
