DHAKA (Dunya News) – Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has said that talks with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are moving in the right direction and the Asia Cup announcement will be made soon.

Speaking at the conclusion of the ACC’s annual meeting held in Dhaka, Naqvi thanked all 25 member countries for attending and praised the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for hosting the event.

“These two days have been truly memorable. The meeting was held in a very positive environment. Everyone is on the same page, and no one wants politics in cricket,” Naqvi said. “We’ve decided to work purely for the betterment of the game.”

Emphasising teamwork among the member boards, Naqvi said that future meetings would continue to focus on collaboration and progress.

When asked about the Asia Cup, he said, “Things are falling into place, and we’ll be announcing the details very soon. Discussions with BCCI are ongoing and progressing well.”

Addressing the absence of a few members from the Dhaka meeting, Naqvi said, “These things happen—some couldn’t make it due to scheduling issues. Even I missed the Singapore meeting once. What matters most is that the majority was here, and we had fruitful discussions.”

He also mentioned that talks were ongoing with the Bangladesh board on several matters and encouraged everyone to stay tuned for the official announcement regarding the Asia Cup.

The ACC President concluded by reaffirming his commitment to keeping cricket above politics and building stronger ties among member nations for the growth of the sport across Asia.
