(Web Desk) - Bangladesh will be led by Nigar Sultana Joty at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in UAE.

Joty will lead a side rich in spin options, with several left and right-hand as well as off-break and leg-break options in their 15-player squad.

Nahida Akter, Shorna Akter, Rabeya, Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun form the backbone of spin bowling in the squad.

On the other hand, youngster Marufa Akter, Jahanara Alam, Mst. Ritu Moni and Sobhana Mostary are expected to shoulder the pace responsibilities.

Bangladesh are part of Group B of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 along with England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland.

The best performance for the Tigresses in the Women's T20 World Cup came in 2014 when they won against Ireland and Sri Lanka.

Their first match at this year’s event will be the tournament opener against Scotland in Sharjah on 3 October.
