Ihsanullah’s nasty snorter leaves Najeebullah injured and bleeding

SHARJAH (Web Desk) – Pakistani bowler Ihsanullah’s pacey bouncer to Afghan batter Najeebullah during the third T20 international played between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Monday, have reminded the cricket loving fans of Shoaib Akhtar’s fiery short-pitched delivery to West Indian legend Brian Lara.

The Afghan player had to go out of the ground being retired hurt. Pakistan won the third T20 match with a margin of 66 runs. However, Afghanistan clinched series by 2:1.
While batting first, Pakistan set 183 runs target for Afghanistan to win the match. In reply to the modest Pakistan total, Afghan team could manage only 116 runs and bowled out in 19th over.

While chasing the target, Afghan batter Najeebullah Zadran retired hurt off the first ball he faced after he was struck on the grille by Ihsanullah. Najeebullah tried to play the ball but it hit his helmet and then lower part of his face. After hit by the ball, Najbeeullah’s face was wounded and started bleeding.

He had to go out of the ground for being retired hurt. Concussion substitute Azmatullah Omarzai made 21 before he was the last man to be dismissed.

Pakistan interim captain Shadab Khan and young fast bowler Ihsanullah shared six wickets. Shadab, with 3-13, became the first Pakistani player to reach 100 wickets in T20s. Ihsanullah got 3-29 with his pacey short-pitched deliveries.
