Saeed Ajmal shares his "abhorrence of English language"
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Former Pakistan cricketer Saeed Ajmal says he hates the word English and no one should be ashamed of not knowing the language.
A video of Saeed Ajmal has gone viral in which he is talking about the English language. “English language, I hate that word. I can’t speak English and when I became the number one bowler, several people told me to learn the language but I refused, I said I will do what I want. I told many people that I will not speak English and anyone wants to take my interview, they must speak in my mother language and I am not ashamed of that.”
He said, “People from around the world are watching what we are doing. I am world number one, the world will come to me, I have no reason to go and ask for interviews.”
He further added, “If you do not speak English then you’re a bad person and if you speak it, you’re the best. People will love you as much as you speak with love, why are you connecting cricket career with English?”
Ajmal made his One Day International debut for Pakistan in July 2008 at the age of 30, and a year later played his first Test. In 2009, he was reported for having a suspect bowling action, but after being cleared he helped Pakistan win the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
