Saeed Ajmal expresses gratitude after retirement

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Spin wizard and former Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal, who announced retirement from all formats of cricket in Pakistan, has on Thursday expressed his gratitude for the love that he received.

Saeed Ajmal took to Twitter and wrote that his cricketing career has come to end yesterday but his life is blessed with the love, care, respect and prayers of his fans.

The former world number one bowler said he wants to thank his family, friends, fellow cricketers, coaches, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and all who helped him to achieve the highest rank in the game we all love.

“Thank you so much,” he concluded.



Star all-rounder Shoaib Malik saluted the magician and declared him a legend.



Pakistan cricketer Javeria Khan also thanked Saeed Ajmal and said his contribution to cricket and great services for Pakistan are inspiration to many.



Saeed Ajmal played his last match on Wednesday (yesterday) in the National Twenty20 Cup and was given a guard of honor by his teammates of Faisalabad as well as the opposition, Lahore.

Ajmal picked up a total of 447 wickets in all formats. He averaged the best in T20s while his wicket taking capability was at the peak in Tests. His regular off-spin, dosra and other spin varieties helped him reach the top.
