Pakistan top T20 ranking after India beat New Zealand in first T20I
The green shirts lead the table of Men's T20I Team Rankings with 124 points
(Web Desk/AFP) – Pakistan is now on top of the Men s T20I Team Rankings with 124 points to their name after India defeated New Zealand in their first T20I in the home series.
A record opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan powered India to a 53-run win over New Zealand in the first Twenty20 international in New Delhi on Wednesday. The pair put on 158 runs - India s best for any wicket - to take the hosts to 202-3 and then restricted the Kiwis to 149-8 and take lead in the three-match series.
New Zealand – the side that previously topped the table – has dropped to 2nd spot followed by West Indies, England and India.

South Africa, Australia and Sri Lanka are now at number 6, 7 and 8 in the T20 ranking, respectively.
Under skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, the green shirts have a win percentage of 85.71pc. Sarfraz has managed to secure 12 wins in 14 matches. His predecessor Shahid Afridi could only win 19 games as captain of the side in 43 matches. He had a win percentage of only 45pc.
