102-run stand between Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam helped Pakistan place 183 runs on the scoreboard

(Web Desk) – Pakistan has defeated World XI by a margin of 33 runs after batting first and posting a total of 183 and losing just four wickets. The visiters failed to chase down the target and managed only 150-8 in the second innings. 

World XI had won the toss and put Pakistan to bat first in the decisive Twenty20I of series of three on Friday (September 15) in Gaddafi Stadium of Lahore. After Fakhar Zaman departed for 27, Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam put on a 102-run stand that helped strengthing the score before Shoaib Malik scored quick-fire 17 with two sixes to take the score to 183

In reply, World XI got a good start with some blistering strokes from Tamim Iqbal who fell to Usman Khan after scoring 14 runs. Hasan Ali took the crucial wicket of Ben Cutting who chopped it on to his stumps. Wickets kept on falling with regular intervals. Only Thisara Perera and David Miller tried to consolidate the innings by scoring 32 each. Hasan Ali, who came in as a replacement for Sohail Khan, finished of with 2-28. Imad Wasim, Usman Khan and Rumman Raees got one wicket each. The green shirts were able to get Amla, du Plessis and Morne Morkel by run outs.

On the other hand, World XI skipper Faf Du Plessis had decided to include power-hitters George Bailey and Darren Sammy. Bailey will keep wickets as wicket-keeper Tim Paine and English all-rounder Paul Collingwood have been dropped from the line-up.

Sarfraz-led Pakistan earlier won the first T20I on September 12 and lost the second one on September 13. The two teams are meeting for the final match of the series after a break on Thursday (September 14).
